What is the Current Franchise Fee?
The current franchise fee is $29,000.
What is the Royalty Fee?
Currently, the royalty fee is 8% a month. You pay just $500 a month with one catch up payment due
after the end of the calendar year. The monthly payments increase in years 2 and 3. The details of this and other fees
are in our Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC).
What is the Minimum Amount of Money I Need to Initially Open a Tutoring Center?
The initial investment to open a center is contained in Item 7 of our UFOC with notes that describe
the fee schedule. Please review this section of the UFOC carefully. The range of investment will vary
greatly based on area, rental costs, and your personal choice for advertising, to name a few.

Are there any Other Fees in Addition to the Monthly Royalty Payment?
Item #6 of the UFOC describes typical fees charged in opening a franchise operation.
You will not be charged any advertising fees.

Will I Need to go out and Purchase all my Furniture, Signs, Computer Equipment and Other Inventory?
NO. Your opening inventory is provided to you before you open your center.

What about Financing?
We do not currently offer any direct or indirect financing at this time.

Will you Help me Design my New Center?
YES. We provide you with guidance to open your center along with an Operations Manual that includes
a detailed description of typical buildout and layout of furniture and equipment.

Will I be Required to Join a Local, Regional or National Advertising Cooperative?
NO. There are no additional fees for advertising. You will be provided an Operations Manual that includes a comprehensive Marketing Plan.
We encourage you to conduct grand opening advertising and to purchase an ad in your local Yellow Pages.

Will I have an Exclusive Territory to Operate my Center?
Yes. See Item #12 in the UFOC.

As a Franchisee, will I also be Required to Operate the Center?
YES. You must actively supervise and manage your Center.

What are the Usual Operating Hours for a Center?
Sessions are scheduled from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Monday through Thursday. We conduct testing on Friday
afternoons from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm and on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Centers are required to be open
for business from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Do I Need a Degree in Education to be Awarded a Franchise?
NO. Previous experience in business, management, or sales is a plus.

Do I Need to be a Teacher to be Successful?
NO. Our franchise owners come from different walks of life and have different backgrounds. If you have an
entrepreneurial spirit, desire and the need to own your own business in a field that helps people, then
THE TUTORING CENTER may be the right place for you.

What Kind of Qualifications are you Looking for?
Once we have received your Franchise Questionnaire, we will be able to review your background in detail.
In general, we are looking for someone who has a strong desire to be in business for themselves, is a good
communicator, has strong ties to the community, and enjoys helping the children of your community. A strong
financial base is also important. We expect candidates to possess a 4-year college degree, but exceptions will
be made in extraordinary circumstances.

I have a Specific Area in Mind, is it OK to Open There?
Our Franchise Development Department will give you a call after we receive your completed Franchise Questionnaire.
At that time, you can ask questions.

Can I have a Non-commercial Site?
Currently, we want all centers to open in a commercial, storefront space in "destination" shopping centers.
This type of location can accommodate a large display sign and can attract new customers on a regular basis.
We can discuss this with you further during our telephone conferences.

How much Revenue can a Center Generate?
When you first open your center for business, you will need to recruit new students.
The number of students at your center will depend on various factors, such as the demographics of your market area,
the location of your TUTORING CENTER, the tuition and other fees you charge, your marketing efforts, your
ability to recruit new students, and your ability to retain existing students.
In preparing your own financial analysis and an overall business plan for your franchise operations, it is
important to keep in mind that each individual franchisee's experience is unique, and each individual franchise
may experience sales and expenses different from other franchises in the system due to many factors which will
impact the franchise.
These factors include general economic condition in your area, competition in the market, physical location,
availability of supplies and labor, expenses for levels of expenses peculiar to the area, effectiveness of the
franchisee in managing the business and the overall efficiency of the operation. The franchisee's energy and
dedication to the business will also effect the results of the operation.

Can I set the Monthly Tuition Amount More or Less than the Standard Tuition Rate?
You are free to set the amount of tuition and fees that you will charge. We encourage you not to deviate
from the standard rates by more than 25%.

Many Franchise Organizations Charge their Franchisees a Minimum Percentage for Regional and National Advertising funds. What about THE TUTORING CENTER?
We do not charge you any percentage for regional or national advertising. You are able to use these funds for
your own local advertising and marketing.
