Our comprehensive Reading Program will help your child improve dramatically in the areas of Reading Comprehension, Phonics, and Writing. For older students in grades 4 through 12, we add intensive compositional writing to the program. Just imagine your child reading ahead of the class average rather than behind!

In today's competitive environment, math is getting more and more difficult for students of all ages. Our intensive Math Program will increase your child's computational and problem-solving skills for long-term success, and will also prepare your child for immediate classroom challenges like daily assignments and chapter tests so they can earn A's and B's. In order to reach the goals set out at the time of enrollment, we highly recommend that math students attend three sessions per week. Our math programs will make sure your child has outstanding test-taking skills, a component of math that is critical for long-term success.

If your child is already well above grade level in Reading, Math, and Writing, and really succeeding in the classroom, then there's a place for your child in our Academic Honors Program. This exciting program will help your child achieve maximum long-term educational success with increased motivation and confidence. The Academic Honors Program includes advanced and intense practice in Reading, Math, and Writing.

Standardized Test Preparation Program

Every year, the month of May begins one of the most difficult and stressful parts of the school year: the standardized testing season. By May 15, most school districts will administer their Standard Achievement Tests, and we want your child to be ready. In many school districts, your child's results on these tests are critical to their academic future. THE TUTORING CENTER will help your child prepare for these tests with the same confidence, motivation, and concentration we offer all our students.

The Standardized Test Preparation Program prepares your child specifically for these tough exams. The program is a short-term, three or four-month program beginning every January 1 that you can add to your regular program. Your child will attend one hour per week in this program. By the time your child completes this program they will work on all of the skills needed to succeed at testing time. To make sure your child has extensive practice in a real test-taking scenario, we conclude the program with a 3-hour practice achievement test. The Standardized Test Preparation Program is a great opportunity for your child to achieve higher achievement with confidence and enjoyment.

Why would you consider a Study Skills Program for your child? Because you want your child to be successful in school. Just as your child needs excellent skills in reading, math, and writing, he or she must also be taught the skills for efficient and effective studying.

It is designed by leading educational specialists to teach valuable study skills to students in grades 6 to 12. This program is the result of extensive research and is successfully used in leading schools and learning centers throughout the United States and Canada. THE TUTORING CENTER and Study Skills Made Easy teaches your child how to learn — the true key to acquiring knowledge. Strategies given to your child focus on organization skills, time management, improving reading comprehension, vocabulary development, communication, how to study for tests effectively, and memorization.
